Integrations and API basics
Understand the current integration model, exports, automation hooks, and safe API usage.
It is worth being direct about what exists today. Trellis currently connects to other systems through exports, automation rules, and intake forms rather than a public API.
Move data out with exports
CSV and XLSX exports cover analysis and archiving, and a branded PDF covers reporting to a client. Project export produces a portable copy of a single engagement. Export access is limited to Managers and above, which keeps data leaving the workspace an intentional act.
Bring work in with intake forms
A public intake form is the supported inbound channel. Because a form points at a project and a starting stage, another team or an external requester can create work in Trellis without an account and without anyone handing out access.
Use automation rules as internal hooks
Rules connect events inside Trellis to built-in actions such as assigning, notifying, moving, and requesting approval. They need no credentials and no custom code, which makes them the safe way to wire process together today.
Know where the API stands
A public API and webhooks are part of the Scale tier and are rolling out rather than generally available. If you are planning around them, treat that as roadmap rather than something to build against right now, and talk to us about timing before committing.
Ask before you build a workaround
If you need a specific integration, describe the system, the fields, the frequency, and any security requirements, and send that to info@jolexweblabs.com. That is more likely to get you a supported path than scripting around the product and maintaining it yourself.
Worth remembering
- Exports are the reliable integration surface today.
- Intake forms let external systems and people create work without accounts.
- API and webhook automations are a Scale feature and are still rolling out.
Common questions
Not generally available. API and webhook capability sits on the Scale tier and is being rolled out, so plan around exports, intake forms, and automation rules for now.
