Keyboard shortcuts and accessibility

Navigate faster with keyboard controls while keeping Trellis accessible.

Trellis deliberately keeps its shortcut set small and relies on standard browser keyboard behaviour for the rest. This page documents what exists rather than a long list you would have to memorize.

Search and jump with Ctrl K

Ctrl K, or Cmd K on a Mac, opens search and jump. It is the fastest way to move between workspaces, projects, and tasks without using the sidebar, and it is the one shortcut worth learning first.

Escape closes what is open

Escape closes the open menu, panel, or dialog and returns focus to the page. Because dialogs are used for approvals, templates, and settings, Escape is the reliable way out of any of them without reaching for the mouse.

Use standard browser navigation

Tab moves forward through interactive elements and Shift and Tab moves back, with Enter or Space activating the focused control. Trellis uses real buttons and links rather than mouse-only elements, so browser keyboard navigation works throughout rather than only in places that were specially handled.

Reduced motion is respected

Trellis honours the reduced motion setting in your operating system. If you have that enabled, transitions and animated effects are suppressed automatically, which helps if motion causes discomfort or simply makes the interface harder to read.

Tell us what would help

The shortcut set is intentionally small at this stage. If a specific shortcut would meaningfully speed up your work, or if you hit an accessibility barrier, send it to support@jolexweblabs.com. Real workflow examples are what shape which shortcuts get added.

Worth remembering

  • Ctrl K, or Cmd K on a Mac, is the shortcut worth learning first.
  • Escape reliably closes any open dialog or menu.
  • Reduced motion preferences set in your operating system are respected automatically.
Questions

Common questions

Not yet. The set is deliberately small at this stage, and search and jump plus Escape cover most navigation.

Trellis uses standard interactive elements and keyboard navigation. If you encounter a barrier, report it to support@jolexweblabs.com with the steps involved.
