How to export a branded PDF report

Produce a client-ready report without rebuilding it by hand.

A branded PDF is the version you send outside the business. The goal is that the client can read it without you narrating it on a call.

Apply the intended dashboard filters

Set the scope before exporting, since the export captures what is currently shown. Check the date range and project scope specifically, because those are the two that quietly produce a report covering the wrong period.

Review every report section

Read it as the client will. Remove sections that need internal context to interpret, and confirm nothing internal-only has been included. A client report is a communication, not a data dump.

Select Print or PDF

Export from the report itself so the branding and layout are applied. This produces a document carrying your workspace identity rather than a raw screenshot of a dashboard.

Confirm A4 portrait and all sections

Check the page setup before saving. The common failure is a chart cut across a page break, which makes an otherwise good report look careless.

Save the PDF and verify charts and tables

Open the saved file and confirm charts rendered and tables are complete. Verifying the artifact takes seconds and prevents sending a client a document with an empty chart in it.

What success looks like

  • The PDF opens cleanly, carries your branding, covers the period you intended, and can be understood by the client without a covering explanation.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Exporting without checking the date range, producing a report for the wrong period.
  • Including internal-only sections a client cannot interpret.
  • Sending the file without opening it, so a broken chart reaches the client first.
